Simona Halep, ambassador at WTA Finals Riyadh 2025

Simona Halep was an ambassador at the WTA Finals 2025, held in Riyadh, marking her first experience in such a role.

In this capacity, Simona was involved in a series of activities dedicated to fans and the promotion of the event, including official visits, meet & greet sessions, media appearances, and meetings with other great former players from her generation.

Her presence once again reflected the respect and recognition she enjoys internationally, as well as her strong connection with the WTA circuit, even after the end of her competitive career.

During the event, Simona, alongside Garbiñe Muguruza, presented the year-end World No. 1 trophy to Aryna Sabalenka.

Afterwards, Simona said:

I was honored to share the court again with two incredible champions, even if only for a few moments. I learned that only 12 players in history have finished the year as World No. 1 at least twice, and I’m proud to be one of them.

Simona’s participation at the WTA Finals as an ambassador once again highlighted the impact she has had on world tennis and the role she continues to play in promoting the sport.

Even after retirement, Simona remains actively involved in the tennis world, continuing to inspire and stay close to the fans.
