Simona in Australia
World No.1 Simona Halep has touched down in Australia where she will begin her 2019 season at the Sydney International.
Simona spent the morning on Friday feeding the local wildlife their breakfast at the Wild Life Sydney zoo. “I had never been this close to kangaroos or koalas before, so it was really fun for me and a nice way to start my time here in Australia,” said Halep.
The Romanian, who receives a bye as the No.1 seed, will face either Ashleigh Barty or Jelena Ostapenko in her first match of the season.
