On June 12, 2026, “SIMONA – Povestea unui Vis” (“SIMONA – A Dream’s Story”) will premiere, a two-part documentary series offering a personal and authentic look into Simona Halep’s life beyond the results, trophies, and moments that made her known around the world.

The film explores a different chapter of Simona’s story: her life after retiring from professional tennis, the process of rediscovering herself beyond competition, and the simple things that now bring her joy and balance.

Through archive footage, memories, and testimonies from people who have been part of her journey, the documentary reveals the person behind the achievements and the path of an athlete who inspired generations through hard work, discipline, and determination.

This is not a biographical film. It does not follow Simona Halep’s career and trophies, but the person behind the achievements. It is a film about the silence after the noise. About life beyond tennis. About the vulnerability we rarely see in those we consider invincible. What surprised me most was her sensitivity, her relationship with her family, and the way she is now learning to enjoy simple things: free time, peace of mind, and the freedom of no longer having to prove anything to anyone. Simona inspires not only through her trophies, but through her discipline, ambition, and ability to move forward. This film is about success, vulnerability, setbacks, and the courage to begin a new chapter. It is not the end of a career. It is the beginning of a new life.

This documentary is very special to me because it explores aspects of my life that people have seen less of throughout my career. It is not only about tennis and results, but also about emotions, family, challenges, and the person behind the performances.

It was an emotional experience to film this series and look back on everything I have lived through over the years.
